Our Pastor
Our Pastor,
David K. Caruthers
Pastor Caruthers
graduated from Texas Bible College in 1984. He and his wife, Gena,
have been married for 28 years and have two children and a
son-in-law: Nathan, Ashley and her husband Aaron. Nathan is a
licensed UPCI minister and is
currently serving our Country as a Chaplin Assistant in the US
Army and is stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina. Ashley
and Aaron Davis have recently moved to San Antonio to be a part of
Calvary Church. Aaron and Ashley are Calvary's Rapid pre teen
leaders. Aaron also serves as Administrative Pastor.
Throughout his
ministry, Pastor Caruthers has been active in various facets of
ministry such as associate pastor, outreach director, young marrieds
director, private education principal, and pastoral administrator.
He and his wife have pastored in Taylor, Texas; Raymondville, Texas;
Baytown, Texas; and now in San Antonio, Texas. The Caruthers feel,
without a doubt, that God has prepared them for this time and this
place. The city and the people of San Antonio have captured their
hearts.
Pastor Caruthers and
Gena have always pastored as a team. Believing in each other,
holding onto God, and following their dreams has helped them become
who they are today.
In September 1998
Pastor Caruthers was afforded the opportunity to pursue his dream of
returning to college for his secular degree. After attending the
University of Texas, McCombs School of Business, Pastor Caruthers
graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of
Professional Accounting and successfully achieved the goal of
becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Pastor Caruthers was
previously employed as Chief Financial Officer of a large local not
for profit that provided community services and workforce
solutions. Now Pastor Caruthers�s accounting firm focuses on
consulting and assurance services for churches, ministers, and other
not for profits. His accounting firm also teaches personal and
church financial seminars. He also serves as the South Texas UPCI
Stewardship representative. The UPCI Stewardship team offers
assistance with church financial and construction services. Please

services.
Gena is Calvary's
praise and worship leader, ladies director, and marriage and family
enrichment teacher. You won't be around her long without feeling
her passion for God's work. Gena also serves as Ladies Director for
the South Texas District United Pentecostal Church International.
Along with promoting Mothers Memorial and other ladies ministries,
she coordinates the
South Texas District Annual LUV Conference.
With ministry and the
love for people always being the Caruthers� heartbeat, they are
excited and thankful to have the opportunity to pastor Calvary
